Ash Wednesday, February 17 marks the beginning of our Lenten journey to Holy Week. This year we will again use the contemplative Holden Evening Prayer as the liturgy for our Wednesday worship, led by New Life Worship. This multi-sensory worship will be enhanced by our Middle School Worship Arts students. There will also be a series of dramas entitled: "The People vs. Jesus." In this courtroom setting; Jesus is accused of being a fraud, with the Prosecuting and Defense Attorneys calling various witnesses to testify about the life and actions of Jesus. We will hear testimony from James, John, Mary Magdalene, Herod, and Mary, the mother of Jesus. The congregation, acting as the Jury, we will asked to determine if Jesus was simply a dynamic leader, a disturbed young man, a radical protestor, a manipulator of the weak and outcast, or the true Savior of the world, sent by God to draw the fallen creation back to Him. Our forty-minute Wednesday worship service begins at 7:00.

Our Lenten offering will continue our help for the children of Haiti through Feed My Starving Children. April 9-11 we will host a Feed My Starving Children Packing Event at Trinity as our Spring SERVE Weekend. We have committed to packing 100,000 meals, costing $17,000 (17 cents a meal). If we collect more than the cost for 100,000 meals by March 1, we will increase our commitment to FMSC. Next week, each household will receive a letter with more specifics about this venture and how you can help. Sundays in February you will hear more. Click to read the letter sent to each family this week.

Over the past few weeks, we have all seen footage and pictures from Haiti with the devastation to this country. You have been a generous congregation already with your donations to Haiti relief efforts- thank you! Please prayerfully consider how you are able to help these children. We will update the congregation weekly of the donations received and you will also be able to see the response on the "Feed My Starving Children Wall" in the narthex. Volunteer sign-up will begin in early March. Read more about our outreach.

"Blessed are those who are generous, for they feed the poor." Proverbs 22:9

Your church is someplace where you belong, and where you are accepted just as you are.
Church membership offers an opportunity to grow in the understanding of God's love for us in Christ Jesus, and a means to share one's self in service to God and with others. Together, the family of Trinity seeks to support and care for each other along life's journey.
