Children's Activities at Trinity

Mission Statement

The purpose of Trinity's Children, Youth and Family Ministry is to partner with families to Follow Jesus, Grow in Faith, and Share God's Love.

In baptism, God claims us as part of his family. As a family of Trinity, we want to support you and walk along side you and your family as you grow in faith, hope and service to the God's will. Through Trinity Kids, Special Events, Milestone Ministry events, Grow in Faith Events, family and seasonal events, summer programs, service and outreach opportunities, we hope to provide you with the tools you need to carry out the promises you made at your child's baptism.

Weekly Email. If you would like to receive a weekly email with pertinent Children and Family program information, please email Vicki Burlet or call her. In an age of emails, text messaging, websites, and more... most of our communication happens electronically. Our hope is to reach people more effectively and in a timely manner.

Trinity Kids

Trinity Kids is our Sunday morning program for children age 2-Grade 5 offered during both worship services (9:00 & 10:45 am) from September through May. This year we will be introducing Spark: Activate Faith curriculum as our new faith formation program. Spark is designed to fit all the different ways kids learn. Kids will explore their faith through interactive activities and games, colorful lesson leaflets, and creative art projects. Spark empowers kids to interact and engage with the Bible!

Preschool
Our 2, 3 & 4 year old classes are taught by team teachers along with helpers using Spark, a lectionary-based curriculum. Parents of 2 yr olds are welcome to join their child in class but it is not a requirement. Preschoolers will use a lectionary based curriculum which means the Bible stories children will be learning about in Trinity Kids will correspond to the sermon in worship. Each week, part of their hour includes music time.

Kindergarten-Grade 3
Kindergarten- Grade 3 children learn in a "new" way using the Workshop Rotation Model. Kids will be spending more than one week on a Bible story and will visit a different workshop each week in order to experience that same story from different perspectives and ways to learn.

Grades 4-5
Grade 4 and 5 children dig into the Bible using Spark, a small group, lectionary based curriculum. Spark empowers kids' creativity and imagination as they explore Scripture through exciting activities that reinforce the lessons. Kids will apply the Bible story to their daily life and be challenged to serve others.

Early Childhood (Birth- Kind) Ministry

Childcare
Childcare is available for children birth-age 3 on Sunday mornings during worship services, Wednesday nights and for special events. Andrea Miner, our nursery coordinator, staffs the nursery along with volunteers to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Baptism Class
If you are planning a baptism, please call the church office to schedule a time to meet with Pastor Carrie or Pastor Kent.

Stay and Play Times
For moms, dads and young children! Looking for a safe place for your little ones to burn off some energy? If so, come to Stay and Play on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 am in the Great Hall. It will be an informal gym time for little ones while parents stay and visit. (Dates:November-March)

SPLASH!
Faith Formation newsletters mailed monthly to parents with age appropriate information related to the faith formation of your child as well as the daily growth of your child.

Home Visit
A member from the Birth-Age5 ministry team makes a home visit to families with a newborn to provide a warm meal, some resources, and to connect with your family.

Service and Outreach

Serving and "reaching out to the needs of others" is how we can "Share God's Love" to others. You may pick up offering envelopes in the preschool and K-5 areas. Throughout the year, children in Trinity Kids support two children, Stephani and Alfian through Compassion International. In addition, this year children will support "God's Global Barnyard" (Sept- Dec) by collecting enough money to purchase animals that will be given to families in need. And, during January- May will be collecting money for Trinity’s Feed My Starving Children event, April 9-11th .

Club 45 (4th & 5th Graders)

Club 45 is a time for kids to take part in service and fellowship events together! Club 45 activities are scheduled on two school "release days" (MEA and Martin Luther King Day). Kids register in advance for these events. Our experiences in Club 45 will be based on our common belief... "One God, one Faith, One baptism", Ephesians 4:5.

Milestone Ministry Events

In addition to Grow in Faith events, there are a few special "faith Milestones" that we recognize in church and in the home. These milestones bring God's presence into the home and the rituals of daily life into the congregation. The following Milestones are recognized throughout the year: Baptism, Anniversary of Baptism,Entering Trinity Kids, Presentation of Bibles to 3rd graders, and First Communion.
