Outreach Ministry
Jordan New Life Community Church (JNLCC) is a partnership we began last year, located in North Minneapolis in the Jordan neighborhood. Jordan’s "North Hub" center will be dedicated to teaching life skills, mentoring and referrals. It will help unite the many aspects of the Jordan neighborhood and North Minneapolis by demonstrating the power of a committed faith-based initiative. In November, Richard Goelz, Jeanne Tempero and Kirk Nelson participated in a - kick off’ meeting, with representatives from the Mayor’s and Bishop’s office and partnership congregations, learning about the needs and challenges of the community and the goals of the center.
To learn more about opportunities to get involved, contact Richard Goelz or Kirk Nelson, our JNLCC liaisons, or call the church office.
Faith in Action
Each month JNLCC offers a community meal. We will be providing and serving the meal on February 18. Please consider participating by donating toward the cost or by volunteering to serve from 4-8 pm. We need 15-20 volunteers, children or adult. Sign up in the Narthex or contact the office. To learn more about opportunities to get involved, contact Richard Goelz or Kirk Nelson, our JNLCC liaisons, or email Jill Cornell.
SERVE Day- April 18 & 19th
Help us "reach out to the needs of others" during Trinity’s next SERVE Day. This will be our 4th SERVE Day (we have one each April and October). At each of the past SERVE Days, we have had 250 participate and "Serve" in many ways. There are projects for all ages to serve in the community and help others. A brochure with complete details will be posted on the website the end of March.
Part of SERVE Day will include collecting donations for Bridging, an organization that serves families in transition. Bridging provides household items to their clients and asks that all donations be in good condition (free of stains, tears, and pet hair). Save any donations you might have to bring to the semi-trailer parked here on Saturday morning, April 19th. For a complete listing of what Bridging accepts, please visit their website at www.bridging.org.
