Leader: Senior Pastor
Primary Responsibilities:
Create, communicate, and direct a Christ-centered, congregationally owned and contextually effective vision for all faith formation ministries.
Teach, equip, and nourish young people to grow in their faith and identify their callings as disciples and peer leaders in God’s mission in the world.
Equip parents and called adults to practice faith, ministry, and mission with young people and develop invested relationships in their lives.
Develop a plan for faith formation at Trinity that is based in Lutheran theology and is mindful of the stages of development and curiosity of young people, guiding the choice of appropriate programs and curriculums in all areas of faith formation ministry.
Lead and supervise faith formation staff.
Develop and lead high school and middle school ministry opportunities.
Create space for meaningful relationships to flourish.
Utilize trips and retreats as ways of deepening community and mission.
Develop regular opportunities and education around cross-cultural community building and service.
Partner with the Executive Director of Church Operations and appropriate staff to develop a plan to effectively communicate the vision, programs, and ministries of Trinity’s faith formation ministry through all available means of communication, including social media and other technologies.
Other duties and responsibilities based on needs of the church.
Qualifications:
MA level training in Children, Youth, and/or Family ministries preferred.
Previous experience leading faith formation ministries and high school ministries.
Commitment to equipping families and congregation for faith formation ministries.
Capacity to deal effectively with adults and young people.
Experience leading a group in strategic planning.
Imaginative spirit and outlook.
Knowledge and comfort in the ability to use contemporary communications, social media, and other technologies.
Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
